The joy of faith is contagious. Each day it is the light of God that shines brighter and brighter. In short it is our daily bread that is dished out for us to taste its sweetness. This heavenly delicacy is sweeter than honey and it accompanies us on our journey through life. Faith is a free and everlasting gift that has no limits. It is special and supernatural to mankind. Supremely it feels like heaven on earth when we tread through the fields of life picking beautiful flowers of happiness. Our journey comes about through the loving care of the Physician of Souls that dwells on high. In an orchestrated world, we move independently - each person with a special passion, for we do not walk by sight. During such moments, there is peace in an obedient soul that is consistently being fed by our Maker.

Vincent Van Gogh (1853 – 1890) a major Dutch Post-Impressionist painter that had far reaching influence in 20th century art professed, “I am still far from being what I want to be, but with God's help I shall succeed.” The artist Van Gogh attested to God's goodness and guidance in his faith walk  and so must we do the same.

Joyful Witness

Let your shout for a joyful life penetrate the night air. Witness happily, show an attitude of thanksgiving to our Savior of our faith that is loving and just. God is our bread and feeds us with an abundance of His blessings. He bestowed for our benefit the gift of knowledge. As a testimony to these many creations innovators have invented engines, machines and devices that make our lives simpler and more enjoyable. God's sustenance fascinates souls in their daily walk. We move from place to place through life with confidence, patience and perseverance. In doing so, Christians are relentlessly storming heaven with prayers for the good things and benefits of life. Their persistent prayers bring relief to tormented souls that are unable to find life's answers and satisfaction. In our quest for rest we inevitably become soul-friends on our journey through the ages.

Journey of Faith

An America professor of Internet law at Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Sciences Johnathan Zittrain (b. 1969) remarked, “If you entrust your data to others, they can let you down or outright betray you.” In modern society that depends on the flow of data, Zittrain's statement seems fair and appropriate. In the Internet world there are instances of betrayal and much concern for security, but whatever we do, we still have to continue to trust our fellowmen and have faith that they would do what is in our best interest. Entrusting others on our journey through life is most important for the proper functioning of all sectors of our social fabric. This task is never easy but must rely on the light of faith. Of such is the true bread of life on which we depend for sustenance. Rejoice in these gifts from the Creator of all things.

Many Christians grow in their faith through an affiliation with their Church. By the gift of Church, they become better and better people and look forward to the day when they will be blessed with a heavenly crown. Authentic Christians are rich in heavenly wisdom and we can tell this by their display of grace. Their love for heavenly things are known in our world. They are sure that their security rests in having souls at peace. Souls that are healed, fruitful and blessed are shining lights to all men. A Chinese philosopher, poet and founder of Taoism Lao Tzu (604 – 531 B.C.) observed, “The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.” This expression is faith-filled at its best and may not necessary come in the form of gigantic mountains or thousands of miles of security, but in a little mustard seed to which Jesus likened faith.

A Flicker of Light

Saint John the Baptist (1 B.C. - 31 - 36 A.D.) the forerunner of Jesus Christ in St. John 5:35 revealed, “It was the burning and shining light; and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light.” Sometimes all it takes is only a flicker to illuminate a dark path. This is the essence of faith that brings light in our lives. Truly, it is light to enlighten our darkess deeds. This may be demonstrated by how we care and treat God's creation that is a special gift to us. In modern society there is the comfort of our home where we seek refuge from the elements and enjoy a robust family life. Nor must we forget once our earthly journey is completed, we look forward to the beauty and prestige of the heavenly kingdom. What a joyful day that will be when we must pass through the spiritual gates of acceptance and love. But for now we must tend to the welfare of souls that dwell amongst and with us. Let us delight in spiritual realities and have a dialogue with souls yearning to be set free to ascend to heavenly places through the soul of the Church whose symbol is the Cross. This is why every Sunday on all the continents of the world, Christians flock to Churches to be revived and invigorated for their ongoing mission of faith.
